How to Find Company Domains From Names
When building a prospect list, you often have company names but not their website domains — which you need for email patterns, research, and enrichment. Manually searching each one is slow.
This Company Domain Finder predicts the most likely domain for each business by intelligently stripping common suffixes (Inc, LLC, Corp) and formatting the core name into a .com domain. It's a fast starting point for building outreach lists at scale.
Important: domain prediction is based on common naming patterns and should always be verified. For guaranteed-accurate domain data across large lists, you'll want to connect a dedicated data enrichment API. This tool gives you a quick, free first pass to accelerate manual research.
A Worked Example, and How to Read the Confidence Column
Paste a column of company names from a conference attendee list: “Acme Robotics”, “Acme Robotics Inc.”, “Blue River Dental”, “BRD”. The finder normalises each name (dropping “Inc.”, “Ltd”, “LLC” and punctuation), proposes the most likely domain pattern for each, and marks how confident the guess is. “Acme Robotics” and “Acme Robotics Inc.” collapse to the same candidate. “Blue River Dental” gets a plausible candidate with medium confidence because dental practices often use a different naming pattern from their trading name. “BRD” gets a low-confidence result or none, because a three-letter abbreviation could belong to hundreds of companies, and a guess would be worse than an empty cell.
What the tool does and does not do
- It does generate likely domain candidates from naming conventions and clean the company names so duplicates collapse.
- It does not look anything up on the internet. Everything runs in your browser from the text you paste, so results are candidates to verify, not confirmed facts. A domain that exists for a different company with the same name is the classic failure.
- It does not find email addresses. Once you have a verified domain, the data enrichment guide covers how to approach that responsibly.
Verifying before you use the results
Treat high-confidence candidates as “probably right, spot-check ten”, medium as “check each before sending anything”, and low as “needs a human”. Spot-checking is fast: open the candidate domain and confirm the company name and location match your list. For lists over a few hundred rows, sort by confidence and work from the bottom up; the low-confidence rows are where the errors concentrate. If the list is for outreach, remember that a wrong domain means an email to a stranger, which is both a compliance risk and a reputation cost; the Lead Quality Analyzer can flag rows with mismatched names and domains before they go out.
